The brief case study on a trial performance of Kewdol HR 10 S at a large integrated steel mill demonstrates its superior lubrication efficiency against regular rolling oils.
A comparative trial of Kewdol HR 10 S for a period of one month was undertaken at stands F2 and F3 at the customer’s *CSP mill against their existing oil.
Concerns with their existing rolling oil
- Heavy jamming of RGL nozzles, header, static mixture and standby filter
- Fire crack on rolls
- Heavy roll wear and peel off instances
Performance Parameters
Prior to start of trial the following parameters were measured as performance indicators between both the products,
- Roll wear
- Strip quality
- Oil consumption
- System reliability
Trial outcome with Kewdol HR 10 S
- Roll wear reduced significantly
- Reduction in oil consumption
- Achieved very good strip surface quality
- System reliability improved greatly
Conclusion:
The Operation and Mechanical teams were both impressed with the performance of Kewdol HR 10 S and have made it a part of their process by generating a new item code.
